Dear Kelts,
We know these are unusual times and we wanted to send out some info on what we are thinking and some clear messaging on what this means for us as a Kelts community. Ohio has also issued a Shelter in Place order today that goes into effect Monday at midnight. Information on that can be found at www.coronavirus.ohio.gov. USA Rugby announced this weekend they are suspending competition until further notice (USA Rugby Update). Our Officers and Trustees are all following this closely and have been in constant contact to determine the best course of action and the season will be adjusted. Any modifications will be communicated via Facebook, the email listserve and the Kelts website (www.keltsrfc.com) accordingly. We are also monitoring other events we have scheduled, and thinking about if they will need to be postponed or modified. Most notably – the annual banquet scheduled 6/12/20 and Dirty Birds Match scheduled for 6/13/2020. We are hoping these events can continue as scheduled, but if we have to modify or postpone, we will communicate that via Facebook, our email database and the website. There are a number of Kelts who are on the front lines of this, and we would like to give a shout-out and thank you to all the healthcare workers we have in our ranks. You are real life heroes and as you have taxing days ahead, know we are sending you strength. Likewise, to those working in the supply chain and service industry, making sure we have food to feed ourselves and our families, thank you for all you do! We are Kelts, and we are family, and as ruggers we are programmed to hug and drink and generally do all the things together. But please, please – follow the guidelines of social distancing and stay home. If anyone needs anything in this weird time, please do not hesitate to reach out to us – meaning the Trustees, the Officers, or your fellow Kelts. Check up on each other. Keep talking. Keep virtual hugging. One day, we will be able to get together and scrum and sing songs and be gross just like old times. Stay safe, stay healthy, and much love to all. |
